Ich habe den wirklichen Sinn von Google Buzz nicht verstanden. Wenn ich mir die aktuellen Reviews ansehe, hat man die Möglichkeit, als Außenstehender zu sehen, wer wieviel mit wem geschrieben hat. Der Google Account wird dadurch immer transparenter und hält mich davon ab, Google Buzz zu nutzen.

Dadurch, dass Google im Moment so einen schlechten Ruf hat, wage ich zu bezweifeln, das sich das Buzz auf kurze Sicht viele User generieren wird. Aber mal abwarten, Myspace stirbt ja auch gerade einen schnellen Tod und bei Facebook ist der Deutschland-Hypa ja auch schon wieder vorbei.

What it doesn’t talk much about is Google. That’s because the goal isn’t Google specific at all. The idea is that someday, any host on the web should be able to implement these open protocols and send messages back and forth in real time with users from any network, without any one company in the middle. The web contains the social graph, the protocols are standard web protocols, the messages can contain whatever crazy stuff people think to put in them.

…und ich glaube er meint es sogar wirklich so! 🙂

Hallo Matthias :), Du hast insgesamt Recht – die Unterstützung an offenen Standards ist insgesamt schon ziemlich vorbildlich.

Das Salmon-Protokoll kannte ich noch gar nicht – klingt interessant!

Bei mir macht sich nur mittlerweile aufgrund der Omnipräsenz von Google eine gewisse Skepsis breit.

Als Antwort auf Ramoonus. Thats the point... Google Buzz is really exciting for web developers... I am very curious of the salmon-protocol and I love how Google uses the Social-Graph-API (Microformats) for Buzz and the Social Search. (I upload every image in the matching width (480px) so the lightbox doesn't make any sense. perhaps I should remove the link...)

Hallo Raphael :) Ich sehe das meistens aus der technischen Sicht... selbst wenn es derzeit eine ganze Reihe an Microblogging/ActivityStream-Services gibt bringt Google etwas frischen Wind in die "Szene". Außerdem treibt Google mit Google Buzz eine ganze Reihe an offenen Standards, wie z.B. Salmon (ein Protokoll, dass Kommentare im ActivityStream auch wieder zurück an die Ursprungsobjekt sendet) oder pubsubhubbub voran und mir gefällt auch der Einsatz von XFN/FoaF ziemlich gut...

Sehr interessant – ich habe allerdings auch eher gemischte Gefühle. Eine weitere Plattform für Status-Updates – und zwar hinwärts „kompatibel“, aber nicht „rückwärts“ zu Twitter / identi.ca und anderen, wenn ich alles richtig verstehe.

Ontopic: I have mixed feelings about this. Twitter has been around for ages but Googles approach is fresh and exciting for web developers.
