OpenID für Flock

Bei Vidoop hab ich gerade von dem neuen OpenID Plugin für Flock gelesen. Das Plugin ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Vidoop, MySpace und Flock und basiert auf dem Know-How des IDIB (Identity in the Browser) Plugins für den Firefox.

Ähnlich wie bei IDIB für Firefox kann man auch bei der Flock Version mehrere OpenIDs voreinstellen. Neu beim Flock-Plugin ist die Automatische Erkennung von OpenID Providern und OpenID Relying Parties. Besuchte OpenID Profider wie z.B. Yahoo! oder MySpace merkt sich das Plugin und schlägt sie unter „Suggested OpenID’s“ vor.

OpenID Consumer oder Relying Parties werden wohl nur noch am Login-Feld und nicht mehr (wie bei IDIB) über XRDS-Simple erkannt. Ist ein OpenID Login möglich, werden einem die vorher angelegten OpenIDs angeboten und man kann sich bequem über das Plugin anmelden.

OAuth in Firefox?

Gestern berichtete ReadWriteWeb über eventuelle Pläne, OAuth nativ in Firefox zu integrieren.

The conversation today took place in the context of a question from Matthew „lilmatt“ Willis, a Flock employee and longtime contributor to Mozilla. Willis wants to know if the Firefox developer community would like OAuth built into Firefox and if so how. He points out that much of the work has already been done, if not multiple times.

Neben Microformats und OpenID wäre OAuth das dritte offene Format welches der Firefox 3 unterstützen würde…

Structured blogging mit Flock

Strukturiertes bloggen (z.B. die Verwendung von Microformats in Blog-Posts) stellt eine gewisse Hürde für den Verfasser dar, da ein gewisser Mehraufwand in Form von strukturiertem/semantischem HTML notwenig ist. Um diese Hürde so gering wie möglich zu halten gibt es mittlerweile reichlich Plugins für die gängigsten Weblog-Tools sowie die verbreitetsten Mikroformate.

Um den Komfort der strukturellen Inhalte auch auf den Desktop zu bringen gibt es ein schickes Plugin für den Flock Blog-Editor.

Blogplus erweitert den Blog-Editor von Flock um eine Menge neuer Features, um unter anderem auch strukturierter bloggen zu können:

Preset Markup allows you to create, store, edit and apply preset html markup to highlighted text, such as preformatted signatures, css styles or html element attributes (id, class, title). This is particulalrly useful for improving productivity for microformat creation. See help page for more info.

oder:

hCalendar allows you to create microformats hCalendar events. This is included as it is a little easier than going the Preset Markup route for the complicated hCalendar markup.

Ich hoffe MarsEdit kommt demnächst mit einem ähnlichen Feature 🙂
