This plugin creates an APML Feed using the the native tags and categories of WordPress 2.3.x, but it also supports UltimateTagWarrior and SimpleTagging for WordPress 2.0.11 – 2.2.x.

New Features:

I wrote a small APML Plugin/Extension for WordPress, as I mentioned some posts before. The Script creates an APML feed using the WordPress Categories and Tags.

APML Logo

Bei Sebastian Küpers habe ich das erste Mal etwas über APML gelesen, mich aber nicht weiter damit beschäftigt… Jetzt bin ich letzte Woche über dataportability.org nochmal auf das Thema gestoßen und hab mir das ganze mal etwas näher angesehen.

APML steht für Attention Profiling Mark-up Language und bietet ein Format, Attention Daten darzustellen und portabel zu machen.

APML allows users to share their own personal Attention Profile in much the same way that OPML allows the exchange of reading lists between News Readers.

Die Idee hinter APML ist, einen Offenen Standard zu schaffen, der es Benutzern erlaubt Attention Daten zu erstellen und diese Systemunabhängig zu nutzen. Mit APML wäre es z.B. möglich seine Interessen von einer Community in eine andere mit zu nehmen um schon gleich nach der Anmeldung, den eigenen Interessen entsprechende Inhalte angezeigt zu bekommen.

Eine Attention sieht folgendermaßen aus:

Beschreibung:

  • key bezeichnet die Attention, also das Interesse das ich habe.
  • value gibt an wie groß das Interesse ist.

Der Wert value muss zwischen 1 (sehr interessant) und -1 (nicht interessant) liegen.

… und da ich das Ganze natürlich auch immer ausprobieren muss, habe ich ein kleines Script geschrieben welches die WordPress Tags und Categories im APML Format ausgibt.

Automattic, die Firma hinter WordPress und bbPress, übernimmt den Avatar-Dienst Gravatar (globally recognized avatar). Der Dienst wurde wieder zunehmend langsamer und hatte Probleme mit seiner Erreichbarkeit, was sich durch den Umzug auf die WordPress.com Server hoffentlich bald ändern wird. Außerdem sollen, laut Weblog, auch die Premium-Features für alle kostenlos bereit gestellt werden.

Um die zwei Sidebars des K2 (WordPress) Themes auf die rechte Seite zu bekommen, und nicht wie standardmäßig vorgegeben links und rechts vom Content, müsst ihr eurem Custom Style einfach folgende Zeilen hinzufügen:

Da sich das StyleSheet in der Version 1.0 nochmal geändert hat, funktioniert der alte Code nicht mehr.

The CSS Code has changed with Version 1, so try this new code.

The new version of the K2 WordPress Theme supports a three column layout (you can change it in the K2 Options). I prefer both sidebars on one side (like the 3 column K2 Theme) but K2 only supports sidebar-content sidebar.
