MyProfile-Project
Das MyProfile-Project ist der erste (glaube ich zumindest) produktive WebID-Provider. Ich bin zwar immer noch kein wirklicher Freund von FoaF, SIOC und dem ganzen Semantic-Web Zeugs, aber vielleicht ist WebID ja wirklich eine alternative zu OpenID… Ich lasse mich gerne überraschen 🙂
MyProfile intends to provide a solution for managing the numerous accounts and profiles that users have on the Internet. Its main purpose is to provide a unified user account, or simply ‘user profile’, which as opposed to current ‘silo’ profiles, would really be under the user’s control, on a device controlled by the user.

While the best known current social networking sites on the Web limit themselves to relationships between people with accounts on a single site, the Social Web should extend across the entire Web. Just as people can call each other no matter which telephone provider they belong to, just as email allows people to send messages to each other irrespective of their e-mail provider, and just as the Web allows links to any website, so the Social Web should allow people to create networks of relationships across the entire Web, while giving people the ability to control their own privacy and data.

Leider scheint Chris Messina nicht dabei zu sein… mir hat seine damalige Konzeptstudie sehr gut gefallen!

OpenID ABC
OpenID.net hat einen kleinen Ausblick auf die nächste OpenID Version veröffentlicht… Eine Mischung aus OpenID Connect, OAuth 2 und einer Menge JSON-APIs. Schade dass Webfinger scheinbar nicht berücksichtigt wurde und statt dessen die Simple Web Discovery zum Zuge kommt.
