Erster virtueller Webmontag

UPDATE: Sebastian hat mich gerade aufgeklärt dass es sich gar nicht um den ersten virtuellen Webmontag handelt… Dann ändern wir das ganze einfach in: Erster virtueller Webmontag mit Sprachunterstützung 🙂

Pixelsebi hat, angesichts des neuen SecondLife First Look Clients mit Sprachunterstützung, einen ~~den ersten~~ virtuellen Webmontag ins leben gerufen.

Das ganze findet am 18. Juni zwischen 18:30 Uhr – 19:15 Uhr im Corecon Convention Center statt.

Finde ich eine nette Idee, ich hoffe nur dass es die realen Treffen nicht ablösen wird…

Microformats plugin for Maxthon

Nach etlichen Firefox Plugins gibt es jetzt auch ein erstes Microformats Plugin für einen anderen Browser. „Microformats Button“ ist ein Maxthon Plugin zum parsen von Microformats. Erkannte Mikroformate lassen sich in entsprechend andere Formate wandeln wie zum Beispiel hCard in vCard.

Das Plugin unterstützt folgende Mikroformate:
- geo
- hCard
- hCalendar
- adr
- tag

Wie schon erwähnt, hat Sebastian Küppers auf seinem Weblog eine schöne Anleitung geschrieben wie man eine hCard über QR-Taggs auf das Handy bekommt. Das Problem bei der Sache ist nur, dass bei langen URLs der Tagg sehr groß wird und dadurch schwer mit Handys zu lesen ist. Deshalb würde ich noch einen Schritt mehr einfügen…

Ursprüngliche URL um die hCard mit Hilfe von Brian Surdas XSLT in eine vCard zu parsen:

http://suda.co.uk/projects/microformats/hcard/get-contact.php?uri=https://notiz.blog/contact/

Der Tagg würde für diese URL so aussehen:

Mein Idee wäre, die URL mit einem Dienst wie TinyUrl:

https://tinyurl.com/y8k2tlwg

Der entsprechende Tagg ist somit viel kleiner und für Handys besser lesbar:

Ich hab das Ganze mit meinem Sony Ericsson W810i getestet und es funktioniert super. Um das ganze zu automatisieren gibt es für QR-Code eine API von Kayawa.

Mal schaun ob sich da was basteln lässt oder ob es doch ne sinnvollere Variante gibt die vCard direkt in den Code zu packen, ohne dass dieser zu groß wird…

QR-Code

QR-Code (QR => quick response) ist ein zweidimensionaler Barcode der 1994 von einer japanischen Firma namens Denso entwickelt wurde. Der Vorteil dieses Codes im Gegensatz zum normalen Barcode ist zum einen die höhere Kapazität und zum anderen die bessere Fehlerkorrektur (Bild kann z.B. auch gekippt erkannt werden).

Mittlerweile verwendet man den QR-Code hauptsächlich für Handys und Digitalkameras, wie man in dem kleinen Video bei pixelsebi sehr schön sieht.

Außerdem findet ihr auf Sebastian Küpers pixelsebi’s repository auch noch zwei weitere interessante Artikel über QR-Code in SecondLife und das Potential von Microformats in Verbindung mit QR-Code.

hCard and hCal support for MicroK2

I want to add hCard and hCalendar style support to MicroK2 (K2 custom theme), but I’m not sure wich style I should use… I hope you could help me.
The colors are not final, first I only want to know which alignment is better…

Its like the style of hicks design with the nice famfamfam silk-icons.

Operator 0.8a is Available

Eine Alpha-Version von Operator 0.8 (ein Microformats Firefox-Plugin) ist seit gestern verfügbar.

Neue Features:
- RDFa support (view only – there are no actions yet)
- Unified actions architecture – actions are no longer specific to a microformat
- Support for Address microformat to allow some actions (like map lookups) to be more granular.
- Better support for iframes/frames/nested documents
- Debug mode uses X2V for hCards and hCalendars
- Support for non HTML documents
- Bug fixes galore.
